Karibi T. George is a communications professional with extensive experience in facilitating events facilitation and writing creative and factual contents.
He holds a BA in English, an MA in Oral Literature from the University of Jos, a postgraduate diploma in Education from the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) as well as the professional diplomas of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) and the Advertising Practitioners’ Council of Nigeria. Karibi obtained an LLB from the Rivers State University, proceeded to the Nigerian Law School where to earn a Barrister at Law certificate, which qualified him to be called to the Nigerian Bar.
His communication skills found expression in broadcasting where his unique voice and presentation style soon made him a household for radio audiences. His other work experiences at The Tide newspaper as a features writer, book publishing, teaching, civil service administration an government relations give him an edge in understanding give him depth in engaging complex bureaucratic publics. This well-grounded professional is a Fellow of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (FNIPR); a member of the Advertising Practitioners Council of Nigeria, (rpa); a member of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA); a Certified Teacher (CT) by the Teachers’ Registration Council of Nigeria; and an Associate member of the Institute of Chartered Mediators and Conciliators Nigeria (AICMC).
Karibi is the author of The Master of Ceremonies Handbook (2000) and many articles on literature, education, communications and law. Other forthcoming titles include, Write on Civil Servant (2021), and Tales from School of Laws (2021). Outside his communication and other careers, Karibi George has served the District Rotaract Representative of Rotary International District 9140, Nigeria (1993-1994); Chairman of the Rivers State Chapter of the NIPR (2008-2012); elected member of the Governing Council of the NIPR (2013-2017); Chairman of the Chapter Relations Committee of the NIPR; Secretary, Fellowship Advisory Committee of the NIPR; National President of Baptist High School, Port Harcourt Old Students Association (BHSPHOSA); and Member, Commission on Human Rights, Peace Building and Reconciliation of the Baptist World Alliance (BWA). In 2019, he received the NIPR President’s award for “Public Relations Personality of the Year”. Karibi is an avid lawn tennis player and a football follower. He is married and the marriage is blessed with children
